The Rx

  • Your time is our priority. Your session will take place on time, one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. We will begin by discussing your symptoms in detail, as well as relevant medical history, and leave enough time for a comprehensive physical therapy evaluation.

The Pilates Rx feels strongly that all systems of the body influence one another, so your evaluation will include a full body movement assessment to ensure we are addressing the root of your symptoms.

This evaluation may include postural assessment, strength and range of motion testing, neurological screening, and a detailed assessment of your pain. Time will be spent discussing the findings of the exam, as well as expectations for your continued treatment.

We believe deeply in the importance of patient education and will make sure you leave the session with better resources to understand your symptoms.

  • You can expect to spend 50 minutes, one-on-one with the Doctor of Physical Therapy. Your treatment may include manual therapy techniques such as soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization and manipulation, as well as therapeutic exercise and neuromuscular re-education using Pilates.

  • Each session is 50 minutes long. This includes both the initial evaluation, as well as all follow up treatment sessions.

  • Yes! We firmly believe the Pilates equipment is one of our best modalities for physical therapy because of the feedback it provides the patient, as well as the endless modifications it allows for, to ensure safe movement for different bodies.

  • We are considered an out-of-network (OON) provider. We do not contract directly with any insurance companies, but will provide the appropriate invoices and documentation upon request if you would like to pursue reimbursement directly with your insurance company. It is up to you to contact your insurance company to understand your out of network benefits.

We put together this work sheet to help you better understand your out of network benefits, and how to get reimbursed, click here for more information.

When compared to in-network services, our out-of-network payment style can actually save money. As an out-of-network provider we are able to address the whole body, rather than just the symptomatic zone. This allows us to get to the root of the injury as well as reduce the risk of future injury. Further, there are many In-Network costs that add up: co-pay, co-insurance, deductible, as well as the time spent commuting and attending physical therapy several times a week for several months. Oftentimes, you will find our expert, personalized treatment style will get you better faster, saving both money and time.

You can use your health savings accounts (HSA) and flex savings accounts (FSA) to pay for treatment.

  • Any relevant medical history or documents, as well as a comfortable change of clothing. Otherwise, our space is fully stocked with towels, toiletries, and water.

  • No! We are a direct access provider, meaning you are able to use our services without a prescription from your doctor. If you have medical history you’d like to share with us ahead of time, you can do so through the intake paperwork. We are also happy to collaborate with other medical professionals supporting your care, with your permission.

  • At The Pilates Rx, we believe in cost transparency and your right to shop for high quality, cost-effective services. We will be happy to provide you with a “Good Faith Estimate” of our costs upon request or upon scheduling. Schedule a discovery call with us today for more information.

  • We are happy to provide a superbill (an itemized receipt used for out-of-network reimbursements) at any time during your care. Please email info@therxmovement.com to request your superbill. Please keep in mind we cannot issue a superbill under after the visit has already occurred.
